IS A FOX EMULSION SHOCK THE SAME AS A FOX AIR SHOCK?
No, for an example a Fox 2.0 Emulsion smooth Body shock with a 5/8" shaft is just to help control and existing suspension, such as a Leaf Spring or Coil Spring or Torsion type suspension. The nitrogen in an emulsion shock is there for dampening purposes only, not to support the weight of the vehicle. The Nitrogen in an Emulsion shock is a maximum of 200 psi per Fox.A Fox 2.0 Air shock will have a 1 1/4" shock shaft and the Nitrogen that is used in the shock will act as spring rate and still have valving in the shock as well to help control the suspension during its cycle. Fox 2.0 Air Shocks will hold a maximum of 500 psi of Nitrogen per shock per Fox.
